Patrons: Carol and Trevor Kempton
The DSO Academy, established in 2005 is proving popular with Dunedin’s younger players as it provides crucial opportunities to learn how to rehearse and perform. These are important skills for aspiring Dunedin Youth Orchestra and DSO players.
The Academy musicians meet once a week during the second and third school terms, and at the end of each term, present a concert of their term’s work. This is for players between Grades 2 to 6.
The Conductors and Tutors for 2024 are Ellen Walters assisted by Ella George.
Enquire nowLegacy - A gift for the future
Leaving a gift in your Will is one of the most lasting gifts you can make. It will safeguard the orchestra and live performance for future music lovers.
When the time is right for you to include a gift in your Will, please remember us and consider becoming a member of our family of DSO Guardians.
By making this lasting commitment, you will be leaving your own musical legacy for future generations to enjoy.
Enquire nowDSO Foundation
The Dunedin Symphony Orchestra is trying to raise $6 million over 20 years to ensure its long-term survival.
We depend heavily on grants from organisations such as Creative New Zealand, the Dunedin City Council and the Otago Community Trust. However, funding is not guaranteed and if we should lose any of these grants, then the future of the orchestra would be in jeopardy.
You can help the DSO by including a bequest to the Foundation in your will. It is an easy way to create a lasting legacy of music for future generations. Your bequest, be it modest or substantial, will be sincerely appreciated.
