Annually the DSO tours a group of musicians to primary and intermediate schools around Otago.

Annually the DSO tours a group of musicians to primary and intermediate schools around Otago.
In 2019 this week-long tour expanded to include a second tour to schools in Central Otago and the Queenstown-Lakes District, and in 2021 to Invercargill and surrounding regions. Young audiences of up to 6,700 schoolchildren enjoy introductions to the instruments of the orchestra and to DSO players.
