'Celebrating Matariki - Whakanuia Matariki' conductor Marc Taddei
Working with the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra is always a joy for me.
The commitment and passion of the musicians is inspiring, and the process of rehearsing and performance always feels fresh.
I am particularly excited about our upcoming concert which celebrates Matariki! Holst’s The Planets is deservedly popular with audience and musicians alike - it is a sonic spectacular! Written for massive forces, The Planets is a virtuosic show piece for orchestra that will bring out the very best of the DSO.
But I am very much looking forward to sharing with you a group of New Zealand works (all Dunedin premières!) that celebrates and honours the deeply shared cultural heritage that defines our country.
