The Dunedin Symphony Orchestra is administered by an incorporated society, the Dunedin Civic Orchestra Inc. A Board, comprising prominent and influential local businessmen and women, governs the orchestra.

The Foundation administers an Endowment Fund to solicit funds for investment to ensure the DSO’s long-term financial stability and growth.
Friends of the DSO
In 1998, an active volunteer group, the Friends, was established and it undertakes a number of activities complementing the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra’s performances.
