The Next Friends Event: 2018 Musical Tastings
Friends and their guests are cordially invited to the 2018 Musical Tastings of wine, cheese and music presented by members of the orchestra and music students from the University of Otago. This year the featured wines from the Central Otago vineyards of Don Hatfield, Dick Bunton and
Murray Brennan will compete for top honours.

Portrait of a Composer: Edward Elgar
Learn more from an Elgar expert about this famous English composer who composed well-known music such as ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ and the ‘Enigma Variations’. Included will be the screening of Ken Russell’s wonderful film on Elgar.

The Friends of the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra present an annual calendar of wonderful events that help support the activities of the orchestra through post-concert suppers, chamber music concerts, meeting with the orchestra’s guest artists and convivial social occasions. Membership of the Friends offers an exclusive advance booking period for tickets to the International and Matinee concerts. Post-concert suppers are served immediately after each Matinee Series concert. Membership also enables entry to
Friends events throughout the year at a discounted rate.
